This week we had the pleasure to attend another Speciality Fine food show, and exhibit our Baobab smoothie drinks and fruit powder range within the industry. A glorious array of fine food delicacies, live cook demos and speciality fine food to tickle the tastebuds.
A highlight of the show was reconnecting with a chef friend, Steve Walpole who has been extremely supportive in our journey and is a great advocate for our Baobab products and the work that we do in The Gambia. Steve was running the ‘SAVOUR THE FLAVOUR’ live chef demos, and true to his name he showcased our Baobab drinks, and Baobab powder in a fair few recipes throughout the 3 days, including a delicious spicy-sour marinate sauce, and our Baobab & Strawberry drinks into a few naughty deserts.

Fula Flavour – Spicy Sauce
Talking of spicy sauce we met another West African inspired exhibitor Howa from ‘Fula Flavour’ a fula inspired sauce range that sparked some beautiful fula conversation “Jam Wali” (good morning), “Hono go lige” (hows the work), “Hono i neh-teda” (what is your name?) “A no-nani pullar” (so you speak fulla?). Young Inspiration : Omari McQueen
Its always inspiring to connect with other hard working and committed brand leaders and entrepreneurs. Non more so at this event that the incredible Omari McQueen of Dialicious Vegan Dips recognised as the youngest award winning vegan chef in the UK – Keep up the great work young man! #entrepreneurship
My Million Pound Menu
And finally, there’s always the chance to meet the odd celebrity. Having our products featured in the #guthealth cookoff alongside Million Pound Menu chef Jay Morjaria meant that we had some time to discuss with the man himself. Fascinating to hear about his time out in Korea where he picked up a passion for guthealth orientated foods. Watch out for him and My Million Pound Menu on BBC and Netflix!
Exhibitions can be long, exhausting days on your feet, but its not just the retail buyers that can make or break an event like this. We have also enjoyed meeting talented, gifted and like-minded people from across the industry. We cant wait to collaborate more with some of the chefs, and look forward in the coming weeks to sharing more of our own delicious, healthy, traditional and culturally inspired recipes through our website.
